Suddenly Spring Challenge
Way back in January, on Australia Day to be precise, I was looking through my Google Reader feed and spotted a blog post about a jewellery design challenge. The Suddenly Spring Challenge, hosted by Michelle Mach of Beads and Books looked just like what I needed to fire up my jewellery design mojo. I signed up straightaway, although I was a bit concerned about the time it would take to ship to Australia.I decided to make use of Pinterest and created a board specifically for the challenge. I knew “Spring” would be a bit of a challenge as here in Australia we are at the end of a wet Summer, heading into Autumn. And of course it’s been quite a few months since I’ve picked up my pliers and looked through my “stash”. The last piece of jewellery I made was for my daughter’s formal.
I shouldn’t have been concerned about the shipping time involved as it was only a couple of weeks later (if that) that this beautiful package arrived.
The cute recycled box was tied with a gorgeous ribbon and embossed tag. But Michelle didn’t stop there, along with the stretchy bracelet for the challenge was a couple of silver earring wires and silver spacers. But what I really appreciated was the lovely copper daisy bead. I really love copper, even though I rarely wear it my self, I love working with it.
The reveal date is 13th March, although converting time zones I’ll be revealing my “creations” just before midnight on the 13th. Hope to see your back!
