I’m Over the Moon about - Crochet

Friday, January 13
It’s been years since I’ve picked up a crochet hook. I remember distinctly being taught to crochet by my grandmother. I must have been about eight or ten years old, my mother worked part-time and during school holidays we spent time at my grandparents. Nanna taught me and my sister to crochet granny squares, knit rudimentary cables, sew barbie clothes and make scrapbooks with paper from catalogues, magazines and polaroid photos.

Revisiting with My Hook

With crochet garments and accessories at every turn I thought I’d set myself some projects before moving on to a larger garment at the end of the year.

Projects 2012 Crochet
Pin It

These are the projects I’m hoping to complete in the first half of the year. Firstly, and in no particular order we have some Mary Jane style crochet slippers and since I suffer from perennially cold feet it seems appropriate. I’ve also included some pocket sized owls for my youngest (12yo) daughter and a dragon for my eldest daughter (17yo) although I might wrestle her for it, LOL.

I also hope to make this very easy Ripple Blanket from Attic 24 a excellent explanation of a pattern I’ve never been able to grasp. My final project is a crochet cuff, which I hope to play around with the pattern and incorporate some mixed-media into the final design. Most of these patterns are available for free on Ravelry, and as I start them I’ll share a link to the pattern.

Blog Business

On to some blog business, I’ve added the code for CommentLuv and I hope you’ll try it out for me. This will be the first post it will be active on. Before I forget, all the images above are from my Pinterest Board - Projects. Pop on over and follow me.
