In our family (hubby and kids) we tend to celebrate birthdays on the day with a special meal and cake. In the past the kids had always chosen takeaways and a chocolate mud cake from the local bakery. Good for me, no cooking! But recently we have all been requesting home cooked meals. This time for me was lasagne and chocolate self-saucing pudding…yum!
Celebrating with family and friends is usually left for the nearest weekend. On Saturday we had lunch at my Mum’s house, all food was cooked by my niece. Chicken Masala with coconut rice and Date and Chocolate Torte. Needless to say we didn’t eat much for dinner that night!
On Sunday we had dinner with the in-laws, lovely fresh pan-fried garfish with wedges and salad and more chocolate pudding (packing the kilos on here!!) I love my mother-in-law, in 20+ years I have never found a bone in any of her filleted fish.
I’ve gotten off track again…Beady Goodies, that’s right.

Every time I go to IKEA after something specific it ends up being the one thing that is out of stock. of course that means another trip ;)
- A Gift Card for the local bookshop from my kids (more beading books)

- from hubby dinner and a movie of my choice
- and my brother-in-law and wife my favourite alcoholic beverage
Of course I’ll be using some of them in the Bead Soup challenge, so definitely no piccys. Just to complete my recent run of good luck/bad luck, some of the “items” I was after for the challenge were out of stock, hope they arrive in the next order or I’ll have to come up with an alternative.
