And Now for an Unscheduled Blog Post
Wow, an unexpected post from Yours Truly, mostly because I’d realised that I hadn’t answered an email request about my image for my last post.Instead of asking me direct, my sister sent me an email asking me where I got the “Connect” image in my last post. The original image came from the free section of dreamstime and originally looked like this.
After some playing around in Photoshop Elements 7 (I’m hoping for PSE10 for my birthday *hint hint family*) with textures and changing the opacity and blending modes I ended up with this.
For the life of me I can’t remember where I got me textures. I downloaded them from a site and didn’t make a note of the address. It’s quite a large set with names that remind me of cooking like sugared violets, grandma’s baking pan, retro kitchen tiles (lovely blue-green) and antique bowl.
I absolutely love Photoshop Elements, and I know that PSE10 has some amazing features that my old PSE7 is lacking (layer masks to begin with). I’ve managed a few workarounds to cope and there are some awesome (I don’t use that word lightly) tutorials out there, which brings me to my next challenge…

Here it is, my first photo taken with my iPhone 3GS (I’m upgrading in a few weeks).
I snapped this photo whilst on my husbands pre-Christmas work do. We cruised up the Murray on the Captain Proud Paddleboat, and I took this photo of their sister ship the Proud Mary on the way back to the dock.
It was taken using the Camera+ app and edited in Photoforge2 using some textures (I’m a texture hog!) and other filters and a quick exposure adjustment in PS Express before uploading to share in Twitter and Instagram.
